ABOUT ME
I'm Harry Plymell, a freelance graphic designer and creative writer. I spent the last year moving around the globe and running my business from my computer, although now I'm back in my hometown of Denver, Colorado, USA. I now also teach a graphic design course at my old high school.
I've spent the past three years completing poster commissions, often times for the high school I work at, or its creative writing department, although I've occasionally worked with acting troupes and companies, or individual parties with odd requests.
Two years ago, I served as an editor for the nationally recognized literary and art magazine Calling Upon Calliope. The magazine is run through a class at Denver School of the Arts, and features over a hundred students' original art and writing. After having worked my way up the ranks for years– from contributor, to designer, to production manager and then editor– I was then hired to teach the class after I graduated. Of the spreads I designed in my years working for the magazine, my favorites are showcased on this site.
May of 2019, I had my first chapbook published. It was the culmination of four years of hard work in Denver School of the Arts' Creative Writing program. It features my best writing, of all genres. I worked on the design for a full year, and I would say it is the best graphic design work I've ever done. The book will soon be available for purchase on this site for $10.
